Helen Bell is the whole package to work with and I can’t thank her enough. From the horse and riders skill set, to their fitness, goal setting and sports psychology, Helen is the best way to give you the confidence and enable you and your horse to be the best. Her focus when teaching is second to none and her depth of knowledge and experience as a rider, teacher and now sports psychologist is inspirational.
I started to train with Helen bell at the end of 2019 and in that time I’ve managed to successfully progress from 100 to Intermediate and international level. Not only this but I have done it with confidence thanks to Helen’s experience and tips on staying calm and focused. We even managed to gain 2 top 10 placings in the u21 classes!
I have not only worked with my older horse, whose show jumping and way of going has changed beyond belief, but we have also worked with Helen with our younger stallion who arrived at Helen’s hardly jumping in October 2019. Now, just a year later, is flying round BE100 and competed at the National 5yo Nexgen Finals at Hickstead jumping a decent 1m track! Helens grids exercises and general thought on how to improve him in all areas has been much appreciated and very beneficial.

Mentorship
Helen understands the psychology of both horse and rider, which enables her to give long term confidence to the partnership. She incorporates this into her teaching in a clear and patient manner to produce a positive and growth mindset in her riders.
When I turned up at Helen Bell’s 7 years ago, I was an under confident rider going to a few small shows, with Helen’s mentorship I have since ridden on a GB development squad. In addition, I have ridden at CCI3* on a horse I produced whilst at school with the help of Helen. This growth and confidence has carried through to all aspects of my life due to the way she prioritises psychology. None of this would have been possible without Helen.

Helen has always been more than just a riding instructor, to me she is a mentor. Her vast experiences riding, owning, parenting and producing to the top levels means she offers expert support and guidance. Not only in lessons at Breckenbrough but in preparation for competitions, whilst also being to relate to all parts of your team.
Helen concentrates on the foundation of training that most coaches seem to brush over. After having troubles with a new horse, Helen brought us back to basics. She taught us the art of “locking on” to a fence. In 2 seasons Helen got us from BE100 to double clears at 3*-L level. As well as on the horse, Helen also helped me off the horse. On the psychology front being able to cope with the pressure of high level competition. Plus understanding what variables of competition are within my realm of control. I can’t thank Helen enough for all her help. I couldn’t have got to the level I did without her guidance.

Extensive Experience & Proven Training Technique
Helen has coached my daughter for the last 3 years. She has been amazing improving both her physical and mental performance. This has taken her from competing at 80cm to 2*L and chosen for an International event in Ireland.
Helen breaks down her teaching to allow understanding and improve both the riders and horses performance. Using her extensive experience and proven teaching techniques she has driven the best out of my daughter and her horses.
She also uses her Centre10 experience to help with competition preparation and confidence. My daughter has found this vital in improving her performance. I thoroughly recommend Helen and truly believe that my daughter would not have progressed to this level without her enthusiasm and support.
